Chicken Coop
110 cm (diameter)
Acrylic paint on canvas.
As a child, the artist found comfort in her late grandfather’s garden in her hometown Baakline, Mount Lebanon. The gentle pecks of his chickens were a daily reminder of nature's simple pleasures. Some of her fondest memories include playfully chasing after the chickens and collecting their eggs. These crisp and cluck-filled mornings brought admiration and a deep sense of belonging to the land as well as the natural way of village life.
