The painting reflects the painters grandparent's home and the summers she spent there. The abajour (wooden window shutters) is a prominent memory along with the traditional water jug and wooden stool. The two ladies represent the artist and her grandmother discussing the migration of the Lebanese people who are torn from their homes in search of a better life.
